The framework

The video makes the argument. This is the working underneath it — every rule, every number, every source, and every place where we made a call that somebody could reasonably make differently. Nothing here is asserted: each figure is either read off the database this site runs on, or recomputed from it in front of you.

A snapshot, not a live feed. The data stops on …: the latest Ballon d'Or counted is the … edition, and anything that happens after that day — a new award, a retirement, a result — is not counted until the database is updated.
